On September 11th 2024, many Sage 50 users started receiving a script error when opening Sage 50. Last week Sage released a fix. The update is supposed to download and install automatically. If you are still getting the error, you can force Sage 50 to retrieve the update by going to the Services menu and choosing Check For Updates, then click on Check Now. This is a silent update, so it will probably say no updates were found, even if it did find and download the update. You’ll have to close Sage 50 for the update to take effect.
The script error was related to a problem displaying certain pop-up messages. So another way to work around the problem is to turn off Sage Advisor messages. If you don’t mind not receiving tips inside of Sage 50, go to the Help menu, choose Sage Advisor, then Settings. Uncheck all three boxes on the settings screen and click OK. You’ll have to close Sage 50 and re-open it for the change to take effect.
