One advantage of Sage 50 Quantum over Premium is the ability to have more than 5 users (up to 40 actually). But the more users you have, the bigger nuisance it is when you have to get everyone out so you can perform a single user function such as changing periods, making a backup, or consolidating companies. Fortunately Quantum also comes with the ability to log out other users.

From the Maintain Menu, choose Users, then User Login Manager. You’ll see a list of users who are currently logged in. You can choose to log out all users or just a selected user. There is also a button for Logout Options. Here you can choose whether users will be logged out immediately or if you want to send a message warning them to save their work because the will be logged out in X minutes. You can also choose to lock out non-admin users for a specified time period so they can’t get back in and interfere with what you are trying to do.

It’s important to remember that any unsaved work will be lost when those users are logged out.

Anyone with Administrator rights has access to this feature. You can control other user’s access to it through their security role. When editing a role (Maintain > Users > Set Up Security), go to the Company section and look for Log Out Users under Maintenance. You can set it to No Access or Full Access.
