Some people have experienced a problem running Sage 50 after installing the 2017.1 update. In the cases I’ve run across, Sage 50 opened without a problem after the installation finished. But the next time they try to launch Sage 50 they get the error “Sage 50 Accounting has stopped working.”
All I’ve been able to find out from Sage is that they are aware of the issue and are working on fix. However, if you have this problem there is a work-around. Right click on the Sage 50 shortcut, choose Properties, go to the Compatibility tab,check the box by Run this program as an administrator and click OK to close the window. Each time you launch Sage 50, you’ll most likely get a UAC prompt asking if you want to allow this program to make changes to your computer. Answer Yes and Sage 50 will then run normally.
