The Inventory & Services Management Center is one of the biggest new features in the 2011 version of Peachtree Complete, Premium, and Quantum. I think that, of all the new features, it will probably bring the biggest benefit to the most users. It does for inventory what the Customer Management Center did for customers and sales in version 2010. With it, you can look up an inventory item and see related sales orders, purchase orders, AR and AP invoices, as well as quantity and last cost information all on one customizable page. To get to it, click on Inventory & Services on the left side of the main Peachtree window. At the top will be two tabs. The first tab, Inventory & Services, is what you are already used to seeing. Click on the 2nd tab, Inventory/Service Management, to see what is new.
At the top, you enter an item ID. Then each module shows you information regarding that item. By clicking the Customize This Page button at the top of the screen, you can add, remove, or rearrange modules. You can even add the same module twice if you want to compare the same information for two different time frames.
Here is the complete list of modules you can select:
- Assemblies Built/Unbuilt
- Assemblies Using Item
- Credit Memos
- Expense Tickets
- Find a Report
- Inventory & Service Tasks
- Inventory Adjustments
- Item/Service Information
- Payments Applied To Expenses
- Proposals
- Purchases/Inventory Received
- Quotes
- Receipts Applied To Revenues
- Sales Backorders
- Sales Invoices
- Sales Orders
- Serial Numbers
- Totals
- Vendor Credit Memos
- Work Tickets
At the top right corner of each module is a button with a picture of a gear on it. Clicking it lets you customize that module. You can also customize each module by dragging columns to be wider or narrower, or dragging and dropping them to change their order. You can also print the information in each module, or send it to Excel, email, or PDF. And, of course, you can double click to drill down to the original transactions.
The Inventory & Services Management Center makes it faster than ever to find information about inventory (or non-inventory) items.
