In my last newsletter I told you that Sage 50 2024 had released and that it now offered integration with Sage HR. I didn’t go into any details because Sage was a little late on getting those details to me. But here’s my summary of what’s new.

In version 2024, Sage 50 payroll users will have the option to turn on integration with Sage’s cloud based human resources platform, Sage HR. The Employee Self Service portion of Sage HR is included with your Sage 50 subscription and other features can be added.

What is Employee Self Service? The new integration allows employee’s personal information information (name, address, etc.) and pay slip details to be synchronized between Sage 50 and Sage HR. This means employees will be able to update their information on their own through the secure online employee portal, or through the mobile app. This can help reduce administrative tasks and information requests for your office staff.

This also addresses an issue for anyone who pays employee’s by direct deposit. Until now Sage 50 didn’t provide a good way to distribute pay slips except on paper. Now employees can securely access that information on their own using the employee portal or the mobile app.

As a reminder, this feature is included for all payroll users in version 2024, but turning it on is optional. No employee data will be made available online unless you go through the steps to set up Employee Self Service (see video link below).
