As we approach year end, are you looking for an easy way to get a summary of sales by customer? You have two great choices with the Customer Sales History or the Items Sold To Customers reports. To get to either report, go to to the Reports & Forms menu and choose Accounts Receivable.

To see a summary by customer of sales, cost of sales, gross profit, and gross margin, choose Customer Sales History in the list of reports. By default, the report will run for the current period, but you can click the Options button and change the Date setting to This Year, or to a custom date range.

If you want a breakdown by item within each customer, then the report you want is Items Sold To Customers. That report gives you everything from the Customer Sales History report, plus Quantity and summarizes each customer’s sales by item ID. Once again, you can use the report options to change the date range to This Year or select a custom date range.
