Sage 50 Accounting US Edition 2024 was released on October 16th 2023. As in previous years, Sage 50 will automatically download the update for anyone with a current subscription or business care plan. Once it has been downloaded you will be prompted to install it when exiting Sage 50. Like always, it’s up to you to decide when you actually want to install it. Make sure you have time to install it on all workstations and go through the data conversion process before starting. You can also download it yourself or view the system requirements at the Sage 50 download portal.
What’s new in version 2024? Sage 50 can now integrate with Sage HR. If you’ve been looking for a complete human resources application but couldn’t find one that integrates with your Sage 50 payroll, you can find information for Sage HR (including a free trial offer) at https://www.sage.com/en-us/sage-business-cloud/hr/.
Sage did not release any details of what fixes were included in this release.
Here some other important changes to be aware of:
- According to the system requirements: Beginning with Sage 50 US release 2024.0 Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2012 Standard, and Windows Server 2012 R2 are no longer compatible operating systems.
- If you are still on a perpetual license, version 2024 is the last upgrade you will receive as part of your business care plan. A subscription license will be the only option for all future renewals.
- For those of you who like to wait for others to test out new releases, version 2023 will be supported until March 6th, 2024.
