You may already be familiar with using Alt+Tab to switch between open windows. But the more windows you have open the less efficient that becomes. If you’re working in Excel and you want jump to another Excel workbook that’s already open you can bypass all the other programs that are running and just switch between workbooks by using Ctrl+Tab or Ctrl+F6.

These two shortcuts also apply in many places outside of Excel. In most programs that let you open multiple documents in separate windows (such as MS-Word) Ctrl+F6 will switch between open windows/documents. It even works in Sage 50 to switch between open windows (but not between companies). And in most web browsers and other programs that let you open multiple documents in separate tabs within one window, Ctrl+Tab let’s you switch between open tabs.
