Sage 50 2026 New Features

AR Automation

With AR Automation for Sage 50, you have the option to synchronize your Sage 50 data with an online customer portal that allows you to share invoices with customers, send payment reminders, and automatically collect payments. It lets customers see their transaction history and the status of each invocie, reducing the time you spend on administrative tasks. (Additional charges may apply.)

Retirement Plan Super Catchup

You can now specify if employees between the ages of 60 and 63 are eligible to make the new “super catchup” contributions.

Additional Special Fields in Payroll

Sage has increased the number of Special Fields available from 5 to 15, to support more complex state-specific calculations and custom payroll formulas.

Expanded Banking Integration

The process of connecting to major financial institutions is more seamless and secure. Sage 50 can now authenticate directly through supported browser windows, ensuring compatibility with banks that prioritize modern security standards. This will unlock access to institutions like Capital One, First Citizens Bank, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan Access, and BMO. When this feature is activated, each connection will automatically sync with Sage 50, keeping financial records accurate and up to date without manual intervention.

Resolved Issues

These issues have been resolved for Pro accounting and higher:

• Fixed webmail installation errors, so you can now use Microsoft 365 Outlook to send emails from Sage 50.
• Removed outdated article references from obsolescence messaging to make it clearer and more informative.
• Removed outdated links for retired Sage One and Sage Business Cloud Accounting integration.

Hosting/Cloud

In July 2025, Sage began offering a hosted version of Sage 50 Accounting 2026. It was originally named Sage 50 Hosted, but was soon changed to Sage 50 Cloud. It allows you to continue using the same Sage 50 Accounting you’re used to, but with access from any computer. It is an excellent choice for businesses with multiple locations. Don’t confuse this with “Sage 50 Cloud” from version 2023 and older, which was just regular desktop Sage 50 with connections to some cloud based add-ons.
